Mayor Scott Singer, a vocal supporter of initiatives honoring veterans, expressed his pride in the community's commitment to recognizing the sacrifices of these heroes.

"We’re proud of our veterans," Mayor Singer stated.
"Veterans have made our country free, our world safe, and our city a better place, and anything we can do to help and honor them and provide more services, we’re excited to do.

This is a great community event and one of the highlights of the year, frankly."
The event at Mizner Park was a comprehensive celebration featuring speakers, live music, a car and motorcycle show, and a diverse array of food trucks.

Among them, the Let's Chow Food truck, operated by Calavera Coffee, stood out as a beacon of community support, offering free items to veterans as a token of gratitude.

Derek Suhre, founder of Calavera Coffee and a veteran himself, emphasized the significance of the community's collective effort.

"It's a small piece, very, very small compared to what they did obviously, but we are all trying to contribute as best we can,” he remarked.

Suhre and his team at Calavera Coffee were on-site, offering specialty coffee and pastries to all veterans present, extending a warm gesture of appreciation.

The Let's Chow Food truck, with its partnership with Calavera Coffee, exemplified how businesses can play a role in fostering a strong sense of community and expressing gratitude to those who have served in the armed forces.

The event not only provided a platform for remembrance but also showcased the power of collaboration between local businesses and the community to make a positive impact.
