We Collaborated on a Coffee Book!

What happens when tradition, passion, and bold flavors collide in a single project? You get a beautiful coffee book that celebrates culture, community, and creativity, one cup at a time.
We're beyond excited to share that we've collaborated with one of Mexico’s most respected coffee experts, Julian Martinez, on his brand-new book "Coffee: Art and Culture" a true gem for coffee lovers everywhere.
The Man Behind the Mug: Who is Julian Martinez?
If you’re into Mexican specialty coffee, chances are you’ve already heard of Julian Martinez.
With over 25 years in the coffee industry, Julian wears many hats: barista, roaster, certified sommelier, trainer, and judge at regional and national competitions. He’s a walking encyclopedia of coffee and has helped shape the specialty coffee movement throughout Mexico.
Not only is he a hands-on educator at Mexico’s top gastronomy and mixology schools, but his work also extends to one of the country’s biggest tourist destinations: Xcaret, the renowned eco-park in Cancun. Thanks to Julian, Xcaret guests can enjoy top-tier specialty coffee in a place that celebrates nature and culture.

Take a sneak peek!
A Delicious Dive into Coffee: What’s Inside the Book?
Published by Larousse, a trusted name in culinary literature, Coffee: Art and Culture isn’t your average recipe book. It’s a flavorful journey into the many ways coffee can be infused into dishes, desserts, and drinks, whether you're a seasoned barista or a casual home brewer.
Here’s what you’ll find inside:
☕ 12 Savory Dishes – Think rich, earthy, and surprising coffee pairings with meats and sauces.
🍰 20 Desserts – Cakes, cookies, creams, and creations for every sweet tooth.
🍹 18 Drinks – From classic espresso twists to adventurous new brews, both hot and cold.
This isn’t just a cookbook, it’s an homage to coffee culture, infused with techniques, ingredient stories, and regional flavors.

Our Spicy Contribution: “Cold Brew Diablo”
We're honored to have our own creation featured in the book: the Cold Brew Diablo a refreshing summer drink with a fiery personality.
Inspired by Mexico’s love for bold flavor and spice, this drink blends:
-
Smooth, rich cold brew
-
A hint of hibiscus
-
A kick of chile guajillo
-
Bright citrus notes for balance
Perfect for hot days when you want something a little daring yet totally refreshing. Full recipe and brewing technique are available in the book!

Why This Collaboration Matters
This project isn’t just a recipe roundup, it’s part of a larger movement to showcase Mexican specialty coffee on the world stage. While countries like Colombia and Ethiopia often get the spotlight, Mexico’s coffee scene is booming, thanks to pioneers like Julian and passionate collaborators from all corners of the industry.
Our mission has always been to celebrate this culture, from bean to cup and this book helps push that vision forward.

Behind the Scenes: How We Got Involved
You might be wondering how this all came together. Well, we’ve long admired Julian’s work in both coffee education and culture. When he reached out about collaborating on the book, we were all in.
Our shared values: innovation, quality, and celebrating Latin American ingredients made this project a natural fit. Developing the Cold Brew Diablo was a fun challenge, blending coffee craft with culinary creativity. There may have been a few spicy taste-tests in the process… but it was totally worth it!
